I’m a small-town Maine native transplanted to Charm City. I graduated from Vassar College in 2007 with a BA in Hispanic Studies. For the last few years I’ve worked at South Pole Station, Antarctica, as a field camp cook, general assistant, and cargo handler. In the off-seasons I worked as a writer and social activist for migrant rights. My desire for a career that would help me give back finally won out over my itchy feet, bringing me here—to the School of Nursing at Johns Hopkins University.
